Research Cell

Research Cell of our college was founded on this very ideal. The cell promotes a research bent of mind among the faculty members by steadfastly encouraging them to take up research based activities. The Cell conducts several programmes to motivate the staff to enroll for M.Phil and Ph.D programes. It also motivates them to undertake UGC sponsored research projects. The cell encourages members of the staff to publish their works in leading journals and to present papers at national and international conferences.

The cell also attempts to cultivate an interest in research interest among students by encouraging students to present papers in Seminar and Conferences. The Research cell has organized Four International Conferences and One National Level Kannada Conference in our college for Research scholars and Faculty members.

Teachers & Mentoring Cell

To strengthen the bond between the teacher and taught and to provide academic support to the students. To check indiscipline, irregularity and lack of motivation among the students, the Principal and the teachers thought of introducing Mentorship system to motivate the students. The practice yielded rich fruit. As a result, students became more and more enthusiastic and started participating in all the curricular and extracurricular activities of the college.

Every class teacher is the ward tutor for the class. She meets them one hour every week and takes care of

  • Mentoring and guiding them in academics and non-academic activities.
  • Charting their progress through maintenance of progress records.
  • Ensuring that her wards are aware of all the facilities provided in the college.
  • Instilling values of discipline, punctuality, regularity, innovation, confidence through one-to-One counselling, group dynamics, group activities, seminars for students, lively discussions, field trips etc. Conducting parent– teacher interface meetings to inform parents about progression of them wards.
  • Acting as guide and counsellor.
  • Staff members visit the houses of academically backward students to study their environment and counsel both parents and students. After charting their progress through progress cards, Students are divided into weak, slow,advanced and strong learners. Accordingly, the following measures are taken to provide knowledge to them.

Entrepreneur Cell

The E-Cell motivates, encourages and spreads the knowledge, skills which an individual need to acquire to be an Entrepreneur and help the society in order to make it a better place than yesterday. Our objective is to create awareness among the students about various avenues of ENTREPRENEURSHIP and various aspects related to it such as financial aspects, marketing aspects and technical aspects.

Entrepreneur Cell was started in 2015. E-cell of Sri Krishna Degree College aims at nurturing the students and moulds them into bright business minds by offering workshops, speaker sessions and competitions. The Cell also conducts an annual Entrepreneurs’ Day in which students market their products both stalls in the college campus.

Women Empowerment Cell

Women Empowerment Cell in Sri Krishna Degree College strives to maintain and augment the gender-neutral atmosphere of college. The Cell encourages the girls to come forward to talk about women related issues and tries to sensitize the youth about gender reality as the goal to emancipate and empower women. Focus of the Cell is to eliminate the discrimination and all forms of violence against women and girl child in Indian Society. With a view of taking up women’s issues and problems, the Cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties.

It also provides platform for girls and women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures and other meaningful activities.

Objectives
  • To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender.
  • To conduct seminar, workshop to impart knowledge of rights, opportunities and tools available in India.
  • To create a conducive counseling environment for female gender to share their problems.
